If You Need Reasons To Enjoy Beer

Socially beneficial, a beer at the end of a hectic work day can help you unwind. Drinking with friends can spike your spirits, relax you, and foster fun and closeness with friends, co-workers and family.

Hydration is key for overall health. If you don’t ingest enough liquids during the course of your busy day, the water in beer will rehydrate your system.

Perhaps you haven’t heard that a cold beer is not just refreshing, it can help strengthen your bones! The International Journal of Endocrinology published a report noting that beer, bolstered by the barley and hops it is made with, make it a good source of silicon, an important mineral needed for bone formation and health.

Further, the silicon in beer, specifically orthosilicic acid, is one of the most easily absorbed types.

More than a hundred studies have demonstrated the beneficial effects of moderate drinking. Most studies found that drinking alcohol, including beer, provided an over-all risk reduction of 30 to 40 percent. An incomplete list of the wide range of specifics studied includes heart attack, stroke, hardening of the arteries, type 2 Diabetes, high blood pressure, elevated cholesterol and even gallstones. Benefits are not gender specific, as both women and men seemed to be helped equally. Further, study results showed that those who followed healthy eating plans and also enjoyed beer were healthier than those who ate a healthy diet but never drank alcohol.
