At Kannah Creek Brewing Co., they love the outdoors, and working with their hands. They love drinking beer with friends. (Their motto is: “Get outside. Drink a beer. In that order.”) And they believe that craft beer is for everyone. (Your favorite Beer of the Month Club seconds THAT notion!) With these ideas in mind, they offer an approachable line-up of award-winning American craft ales designed to deliver clean flavors rooted in quality and tradition.

West of the Rockies there is an ancient volcano known as the Grand Mesa, the largest geographic feature in the world of its kind. From this mountain runs the Kannah Creek, flowing into the high desert of the Grand Valley of Colorado and offering some of the purest water in the U.S. Kannah Creek Brewing stands at the foot of the Mesa, turning pure untouched snowmelt since 2005 into award-winning, classic American craft ale. Focusing on quality and tradition, they have several awards to their credit, and a town full of friends. With demand soaring, they have now expanded into a 12,000 sq. ft. 30-barrel production facility.

Be bold, enjoy the ride. Fresh powder, single track, class V, gravity is our friend. The old crew in the Valley might remember Vertical Drop as a long-forgotten Grand Mesa black diamond run. Kannah Creek’s malty, hoppy, Vertical Drop Robust Red Ale shares the name, and has some weight to it — treat your tastebuds tonight!

From local gold to World Beer Cup Gold in 2008, Standing Wave Pale Ale was born 20 years ago, a back-yard brew. Hop forward, with a malty complexity, it won medals in home brew competitions in the 90’s, rising to international recognition and acclaim. Enjoy!

Featured Beer from Kannah Creek Brewery: Vertical Drop Robust Red Ale & Standing Wave Pale Ale

RED ALE — Kannah Creek’s Vertical Drop Robust Red Ale: Ordinarily subtle in flavor, Red Ales are made with lots of lager-style hops. The red color usually comes from Crystal malt, crystallized and caramelized before being added to the brew.  Enjoy this bolder recipe of a robust red ale with beef brisket, burgers, and grilled pork.

PALE ALE —Kannah Creek’s Standing Wave Pale Ale: These hoppy brews are usually golden to amber in color. This one’s really sassy with hefty, complex malts. Well balanced with distinct bitterness, serve with burgers, English cheese & bread pudding.
